Basic repairs can take 7-10 days while more complicated repairs and restorations can take a bit longer. We use only top-quality factory parts in our climate controlled repair environment.

Guitar Repairs

Appalachian Bluegrass gives expert attention to setups, fretwork, nuts and saddlesrestring, bridges, braces, cracks, broken headstockshydration and neck resets.

Guitar Set-up, Level I: $65 + Parts


  • Hydrate the guitar, if needed.
  • Check action at the 12th fret
  • Remove old strings
  • Clean & condition frets and fingerboard
  • Tighten, adjust & lube tuning machines (replace washers, if needed)
  • Check neck relief, adjust truss rod if necessary
  • Check pick-up & battery voltage on acoustic/electric models (replace battery, if needed) Tighten output jack
  • Check & set string height at the nut & saddle
  • Restring & tune to pitch
  • Clean & polish finish

Guitar Set-up, Level II: $95 + Parts


Includes all of Level One services plus

  • Fret level and re-crown
  • Dress sharp fret ends
  • Glue down up to 5 loose fret ends ($6 for each additional loose fret end)

On Electric Guitars & Basses

  • Set intonation
  • Clean & tighten pots, switches and output jack

Fretwork


  • Complete re-fret $350
  • Partial re-fret $20 per fret (+ $50 fret leveling & re-crown existing frets)
  • Dress sharp fret ends $50
  • Fret level & re-crown $75
    * Additionally, with partial and complete re-frets a new bone nut may be required 

Restring

Clean & condition the frets & fingerboard.  Restring & tune to pitch.  Polish the guitar.

Bridge Re-glue

Remove loose bridge, properly clean joint, re-glue bridge, restring & tune to pitch.

Brace Repair

Locate loose or cracked braces, glue & clamp $50.00 per brace

Broken Headstock


  • Without finish touch-up $100
